THE CHALLENGE
During the pre-wedding events, such as the shower and bachelorette parties, the brides want to have something that they can go back to and remember who came. Other guestbooks can be huge, plain, and unoriginal. During the search for that one item you have envisioned, you have to keep into consideration the colors and materials being used. The Future Mrs. is where brides can find that custom original piece to include in their events.
THE TASK
The goal was to create and simple but aesthetically pleasing piece of "art". The client wants to have something she can keep forever but can also be displayed as a piece of art without everyone's names being shown.
THE SOLUTION
The Future Mrs. provides brides and event planners with a small but personable keepsake that they can go back to after the fact.
THE PROCESS
MATERIALS
Card stock & Doilies
One of the hardest parts about crafting is choosing the right mediums. Most of the time it is paper but what color/pattern do you choose? Do all the colors go together? And the biggest question is knowing that these colors and patterns reflect the client.
SKETCHES
I like to quickly sketch out the layout of my design before I start designing it out on the computer. Sometimes you get in the zone you forget what color or position a certain piece is.
SOFTWARE
Before we can get all the pieces, I have to draw them out and organize them on the computer. With the Silhouette Cameo, there is a special software that comes with the machine. It runs like a less advance version of Adobe Illustrator. Once it is all set up, I set the paper and the blade.
THE PIECES
It's important to have all the pieces cut out and ready before assembling the art. Sometimes the layers can get messed up and for me, once it goes down, it is permanent.
